- What is the purpose of the Highway 17 and Storyland Road / Pinnacle Road Project? Why do there need to be changes at this intersection?
The purpose of this project is to improve the existing intersection to meet current and future traffic, safety and operational needs.
- Where is the project located?
The project is located at the intersection of Highway 17 and Storyland/Pinnacle Road, in the township of Horton, within the County of Renfrew. The Study area extends 2 km east and west from the intersection along Highway 17, and 1 km north and south from the intersection along Storyland Road and Pinnacle Road.
- Is an Environmental Assessment being completed?
This Project will follow the approved planning process for a Group ‘B’ project under the Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for Provincial Transportation Facilities and Municipal Expressways (MTO Class EA (2024)). More information about the EA process can be found here. As part of the project environmental reviews will take place related to Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecosystems, Land Use, Waste and Contamination, Groundwater, Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, Noise, and Air Quality.
- Will my property be impacted?
At this time, potential property impacts are not known. Property impacts will be determined as the project progresses and property owners that are affected by the proposed improvements will be contacted.
- How can I get involved in this project?
There is an opportunity for public input throughout this Project. The Project Team welcomes comments or questions at any time. All comments received, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record and may be included in project documentation.
There are two Public Information Centres (PICs) anticipated for the project. The PICs will provide the project team with an opportunity to share information about the project progress and seek feedback from stakeholders. Notices will be distributed in advance of the PICs to the project contact list to advise on the date, time and location of the PIC.
